Weekly Hours: Variable
Role Purpose: To support the BuDS fundraising team with organising events.
We are looking for some volunteers to join our fundraising team! This will include a variety of different activities, including the following:
Specific Responsibilities
- Helping to organise fundraising events (virtual and physical events when Covid-19 allows)
- Scheduling social media posts regarding different ways that the public can help us to raise funds such as signing up to Give As You Live, Amazon Smile, sponsoring fundraisers etc.
- Writing press releases for social media and news publications regarding upcoming fundraisers
- Helping when we resume public events to interact with the public and collect donations
- Help to brainstorm possible future fundraising events
- Write social media posts thanking funders for grants we have received
Person Specification
- Knowledge and experience of working in media relations
- Experience of Fundraising and organising events
- Experience of writing reports for publication
- Working knowledge of using MS Office software (BuDS uses Office 365, Teams, Windows 10). Training will be given if needed.
- Strong planning and organising skills.
- Ability to build relationships and support others.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a wide variety of people including disabled people with impairments of all types.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and keep private information to themselves.
- Understanding and appreciation of the Social Model of disability.
